Drilling for fish

Drilling for fish

[dot_recommends]

Yesterday, an arctic wind was not making it much of a pleasure for these anglers, drilling holes in the ice of Lundby harbour and ‘pimpling‘ for sik (whitefish). Still, they were resolute and I hope they had luck. The wind wasn’t much fun for me either, but at least I could more easily walk away.

Kneeling to fish

In this wider picture of the same group you may just be able to make out the edge of the open river beyond the ice. On the far side you can see the old Customs House (to the left) – now a casino. The Residence of the Lord Lieutenant (or Hövding – ‘Chieftan’) of the Province of Västra Götaland (West Gothland) is one of the many-windowed buildings to the right. Behind is the tower of the Cathedral Church.

In the map, the pin marks approximately the place where the anglers are kneeling.
