Marble mural

Marble mural

[dot_recommends]

This is a detail of part of a wall decoration – an intarsia – composed of thousands of pieces of different sorts of polished marble. The mural covers the whole wall of a two story house in Axel Dahlströms torg. (According to the Swedish language Wikipedia it is 9.3 by 8.4 metres.) It doesn’t seem to have a name, but it is the work of the Hungarian-Slovak-Swedish artist Endre Nemes and was unveiled in April 1955.
