Strangely for the seashore, and despite all the evidence (see yesterday’s photo) there were more flying crows around than gulls. I love the way crows’ wings end in finger-feathers when they fly. There was a stretch of grass by the shore littered with these mussel shells which puzzle me until I saw slabs of slate laid as paving stones in the grass.
