On Kanaltorget at Lilla Bommen on Saturday, the Global Picnic and international food festival. These fish were grilling by the Cameroon stall.
Today is Nowruz, the Persian New Year. In the new market hall at Vågmästareplatsen Iranian shopkeepers had set up a Nowruz table. Among other things the table displays sprouting greens (symbol of nature’s reawakening), coloured eggs (symbols of fertility), apples (symbols of the world) and candles (symbols of fire).
You know it’s citrus season when citrus fruits are the only ones display for sale outside the greengrocer’s at the corner of Brunnsgatan and Västergatan.
A glass of red wine on the bar at S/S Marieholm is the only thing that is more or less in focus here.

Today is Shrove Tuesday – Fetisdag in Swedish. The traditional food for today is a semla, a Swedish Lenten bun with marzipan and cream. And what better way to celebrate than with a pot of coffee at a table in the atrium of the Antiques Market on Västra Hamngatan?
