This big fly – larger than my thumbnail – was resting by the window of the bus next to my seat. It didn’t seem to mind me pointing a massive camera at it for this macro shot. I’m not used to flies with this banded colouring – in my imagination all flies are black, except the big blue bottles and green bottles Swedes call spyflugor (vomit flies). I know there are other colours, but this one seems to be imitating a wasp and I’ve never noticed that before in a fly so large. … Continue readingFly by bus
